Welcome and Happy New Year!

Hello everyone!

Keiko here~

I am a sweet lolita in love with things creepy and cute. I have been a lolita for less than a year and a half, so I thought it would be fun to keep track of coordinates, offbrand finds, releases, and inspiration sources in some way. I tried tumblr, dabbled with instagram, and have shied away from Facebook and twitter, but as we turn the last page of 2015 into the new year, I decided it would be a good idea to finally start a lolita blog. And what better way to start a New Year's Lolita Blog than with a Lolita New Year's Resolution?

A Lolita New Year's Resolution, much like a normal resolution, is a list of goals to guide you through the coming year. Because I have been in the fashion a bit already, my list revolves around more lolita lifestyle things rather than my wardrobe itself. Here are my top ten lolita things to do this coming year:

  1. Create and keep a blog - I have been meaning to keep a blog for a long time now, I just never had the discipline or motivation to do so. Now that I am transitioning out of school and into the workforce, I might have more time this year to do so :)!
  2. Wear Lolita More often - I challenged myself to wear Lolita at least once a week last semester. While I was unable to do so because of the dress code required for my classes, I still enjoyed wearing it more often than previously. For this coming semester, I would like to try to wear lolita at least twice a month, but I'll shoot to wear it for class as well.
  3. More Floordinates - I discovered I really enjoy creating coordinates for the sake of doing so. Unfortunately, I do not yet have a mannequin I can use and I have had to share my dorm room with several people so it wasn't safe to floordinate. This year, I have a room all to myself! I will (hopefully) be able to utilize the floor more in order to create new outfits.
  4. Lolify Room - Even though I will only be living on campus one last semester, I really look forward to decorating my room in a cutesy style. There will be many Rilakkumas for sure ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ
  5. Go to a Lolita Event - I would really like to travel to an event like Rufflecon or something of the like. I have not had the opportunity to do more than attend my local anime convention and would love to meet with other frilly peeps and be able to buy lolita things in person.
  6. Participate in ILD - I always miss it! I have had three opportunities to participate so far and have missed every single one for one reason or another. I am determined to participate this year for sure!
  7. Wardrobe Post - While I have a fairly updated lolibrary account, I have been asked by a couple of people to share my wardrobe with them and I have been unable to. I would love to remedy this by creating a catalogue of the pieces I own. It works out that I got a digital camera for Christmas!
  8. Practice Makeup - I have never been a big makeup inclined person. I enjoy buying it sometimes, but rarely ever wear it. This year, I would like to change that. My goal is to learn more about and practice applying makeup in different styles to suit my coordinates. I am particularly looking at more complex sweet looks and to learn about gothic makeup from scratch.
  9. Spend Less money - This resolution is going to be the hardest, I think! I have spent waaaay too much money expanding my wardrobe this past year, so I need to try to stick to what I have and focus more on improving my skills rather than my materials.
  10. Lose Weight - This last goal is both personal and for lolita. I would like to improve my overall fitness level and lose some weight in order to look and feel better in all my clothes-- lolita fashion included!
As I move forward this year, I also hope to connect more with other Lolitas both online and in the area, and look forward to improving my coordinating skills as well.
What about you? What do you look forward to in the new year? Is there anything specific you want to achieve? Let me know in the comments below!

Keiko out~
